Description An album of 32 Indian miniatures, various sizes (largest: 10 3/8 x 8 1/4 in.; 264 x 211 mm ; smallest: 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 in.; 106 x 67 mm), all North Indian, ca. 19th century, mostly genre scenes and portraits, opaque watercolor heightened with gold on paper, mounted or tipped to album leaves; some abraded, lightly stained, or repaired. Bound in cloth-backed, gilt paste-paper boards; worn, a few leaves loose. — Accompanied by 12 Company School watercolor drawings of the Taj Mahal and surrounding monuments (each ca. 4 5/8 x 7 1/2 in.; 118 x 190 mm), India, ca. early 19th century.
