Auctions: the tide is rising

For the week ending Saturday September 28th 26 auctions were archived to the AED;  3 in Swiss francs, 4 in euros, 6 in British pounds, 1 in Mexican pesos, and 12 in US dollars.  We are living through a fundamental change in how collectible material is being valued and sold.  Seven thousand, nine hundred and thirty-three lots were offered and 5,972 sold for a 75% success rate.  Turnover was $9,394,247.

 

Two sales saw their totals exceed a million dollars:

Koller Auctions – Zurich.  Books and Autographs on September 21st:  $1,629,913

 

Four sales saw total proceeds exceed 100% of the total of the high estimates of all lots offered:
